Specialized therapeutic and evaluative services for complex family systems

WELCOME
Most people are on this page because there has been a disruption to their family and they have been trying to resolve things for a long time, courts might be involved, and there are multiple parties which means there are lots of complicated factors.
Healing from relationship-based trauma requires the development and maintenance of healthy, supportive relationships. This is because the trauma itself is rooted in the broken trust and dynamics of those relationships. By building new, healthy connections and working through the trauma in the context of those relationships, individuals can begin to rebuild their sense of safety, trust, and well-being.
"Trauma that happened through relationship can only be healed in relationship" - Dr. Karin Purvis

About
Mission Statement
H.E.A.R.T. Therapy Services provides specialized therapeutic, evaluative, and consultative services for complex family systems, grounded in child-centered, attachment-informed, and trauma-responsive care.
Guided by Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) principles, we prioritize emotional safety, connection, and empowerment while supporting accountability and relational repair. We work collaboratively with families, providers, legal professionals, and courts to foster healing, stability, and healthier relationships that honor the child’s voice and developmental needs.
Vision Statement
We envision a system in which children’s emotional safety and voices are central to both therapeutic and legal decision-making.
H.E.A.R.T. Therapy Services seeks to contribute to a community where families navigating conflict and transition are met with clarity, compassion, and structure; where caregivers are supported in growth and accountability; and where therapeutic and legal systems align to promote healing rather than harm.
Our Values
Child-Centered Safety
Children must feel safe—emotionally and physically—for healing to occur. All services prioritize the child’s voice, boundaries, and readiness, and children are never required to engage beyond their expressed comfort.
Connection Before Correction
Consistent with TBRI®, we recognize that relational connection is the foundation for growth. Skill-building and accountability are introduced within the context of safety, trust, and attunement.
Empowerment Through Accountability
Caregivers are supported in understanding their role within the family system and are guided toward meaningful accountability and change. Empowerment is rooted in responsibility, reflection, and commitment to the child’s well-being.
Collaboration Across Systems
Effective family work requires coordination. We value thoughtful collaboration with individual therapists, evaluators, attorneys, courts, and other professionals to ensure aligned goals and ethical practice.

Meet the Therapist
Heather Griffith, LCSW, TBRI Practitioner
Therapist, Parental Responsibility Evaluator, Case Consultant, Supervisor
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in attachment-focused therapy, TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) principles, and relational work with high-stress families. My commitment to supporting children and families navigating complex emotional and behavioral challenges is deeply rooted in my experience working within the foster care system and my own journey as both a foster and adoptive parent. I understand firsthand the impact of attachment disruptions and trauma, and I strive to bring a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to my work, emphasizing safety, trust, and connection to foster healing and resilience.
I focus on working with families experiencing attachment disruptions, court-ordered therapy, and reunification cases. I am particularly skilled in addressing situations where children experience feelings of alienation and abandonment. My goal is to help families navigate these deeply emotional issues with sensitivity and care. Using TBRI principles, I support families in recognizing and healing the effects of trauma, building strong relational connections, and creating safe, nurturing environments where children can thrive. My experience with court-ordered therapy and reunification work allows me to navigate the sensitive intersections of legal requirements and therapeutic goals, ensuring that each family receives support tailored to their unique needs.
In addition to my work with attachment and reunification, I am passionate about supporting children with high-level behavioral needs and coaching parents to create structured, supportive environments for growth. My work includes parent coaching, where I partner with caregivers to develop effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors, enhancing emotional regulation, and strengthening parent-child interactions. I collaborate with families, schools, and community resources to create actionable plans that promote resilience and positive developmental outcomes.
I am committed to strengthening families, restoring connections, and promoting healthy development for children and adolescents facing life's most demanding challenges.

Why H.E.A.R.T Therapy?
Healing Emotional Attachment and Relational Trust
Families navigating high-conflict, court-involved situations require more than traditional therapy models. These systems are often shaped by trauma, disrupted attachment, legal pressures, and competing narratives that can unintentionally place children in emotionally unsafe positions.
H.E.A.R.T. Therapy Services was created to meet families where complexity exists.
Our work is grounded in the understanding that sustainable relational healing occurs only when children feel emotionally and physically safe, their voices are respected, and caregivers are supported in meaningful accountability and growth.
We specialize in therapeutic and evaluative services for complex family systems, including reunification therapy, therapeutic supervised visitation, co-parenting and family therapy, individual psychotherapy, and parental responsibility evaluations. Our approach integrates clinical expertise, child development, attachment science, and court-informed practice to support families through some of their most challenging transitions.
At H.E.A.R.T., we move at the child’s pace, maintain clear professional boundaries, and collaborate thoughtfully with systems involved in a family’s care. Our goal is not simply restoration of contact, but the development of emotional safety, trust, and healthier relational patterns that can endure beyond the therapeutic process.
